The Grocery Getter

Ever since I got my first car I have been slowing turning it into a fun "grocery getter". This 1996 Volvo 850 GLT primarily serves as my daily driver and long distance cruiser. I also use it as my experiment car. I have installed, tested, enjoyed and uninstalled many crazy mods that vary from hidden 100w KC Daylighters all the way to Louis Vuitton interior. For some reason I have a bizarre fascination with lights and it is very evident in all of my cars... the Volvo is no exception. The entire interior is lit to match the colors of the Louis Vuitton upholstery and they dance to the beat of the music.

All these lights are not nearly as fun without the stereo system I just installed (for the second time). The 2 Kicker CompVR 10's are powered by 1100 watts and a 2 Farad capacitor. I know it's not "blow your mind" kind of power... but it gets the job done as I drive around town.

Eric B. has been working hard to get the website finished up. Basically, we are aiming to have it done within the next couple weeks. It's basically going provide all the info about Astral Garage including services, contacts, photo gallery of my work, my education/credentials/certifications, and other cool stuff. I will post the link once I get around to actually getting it up and running. Stay tuned for updates...

The Astral Garage

The Astral Garage is getting closer to becoming reality. I've been in the process of trying to buy a building in Solon, Ohio. It's been a frustrating past couple of months. I am not 100% sure whether it will happen or just fall through. On the bright side, an opportunity may have come up for me to open up shop here in Naperville, IL. I have been running a lot of numbers in my head to try and get a grasp of what the entire financial picture will look like. The problem with Naperville is that property costs are insane! Limiting my options of location.

Although it's tough to build a business from the ground up in this area, I know that Astral Garage is more than capable of producing a very high quality service that will be hard to find anywhere else. I have proven my capabilities at prior customizing shops by producing beautiful show worthy cars... in fact, I've had several cars in shows.

In other news: I have been gathering all the special equipment that this shop will need. The newest edition being a brand new SATA Jet HVLP B 1.3 Digital! I must say, I am very impressed with this gun. The control it offers is ridiculous. Transfer efficiency is unbelievable! ...Now I just need to find a SATA KLC 1.7 or 1.8. So let me know if you find one for sale. Why do German companies make their products so hard to get in America!?
